Tomorrow will be our 4th meet of the season.  This meet is away at the Sam Fishman Pool, East Street in Vergennes, warm-ups begin at 5:30pm.  Please try to be there by 5:15pm.  We have no time after warm-ups to get ourselves situated, and therefore need to do that before/during warm-ups.

Missing a swim meet or several?  Thank you to everyone, and there's been many of you, who have checked in regarding illnesses, camps, vacations, etc that have prevented one or more of your swimmers from attending a meet.  That said, please do your best to designate your swimmer(s) as "attending" or "not attending" for every meet.  We have had no fewer than 12 families tell us about some modified schedule for just this week.  These have come to the stasharksvt email, our personal emails, through text messages, and/or through verbal conversations.  Sometimes the message is delivered via the swimmer(s) or a secondary family.  The trouble is that there is just too much room for error in this.  With around 120 swimmers competing in meets, the part we need is simply the "attending" or "not attending."  Of course we love to have context for absences, so please continue to share, but above all else... "attending" or "not attending."  Thank you!!

• Reminder that swimmer sign-ups close at midnight before the meet, so midnight tonight for the Vergennes meet.  

For the second meet in a row, we had multiple parents come to coaches to say that STA swimmers were busy trying to plant 5-stars (red hand prints), among other things, on one another.  To be clear: this practice, or any like it, is not acceptable on this team.  Currently our understanding is that the majority of this group are 13-14 boys; however it likely includes some swimmers outside that range as well.  We feel like this request doesn't require any further explanation, but would be happy to provide one, in-person, upon request.

If you are an official who is planning on attending this meet but haven't yet signed up, please do so asap!!  Currently there are only 2, which means we will have to let Vergennes know we are not bringing the minimum required.  What if we remain short on officials? It's likely that Vergennes would still want to hold the meet, as times would count, but we would undoubtedly forfeit the meet.  On a related note...consider becoming an official next season.  We had swelled our ranks to a pretty substantial number last season only to return this year to find that we lost several of those number and didn't pick up any newbies.  The more the better.
